Still Here :)

Apologies for the radio silence; things have been frantic for the past few months. Every time I thought they were slowing down... they did not.

It has been a long, hard year so far.

And I am exhausted.

But I am taking a mini-vacation, starting Friday, to attend the Newport Folk Festival.

So relief is on the way.

More to follow on this.

Promise.

In the meantime, a recent pic, and a few artists I look forward to seeing this weekend.

Stay cool, everyone!

  1. Good to hear from you!

The weather here is just evil at the moment, the sooner it cools down the better. Especially as I have a colleague who in 30c + very high humidity still wears a jacket and jumper *and* complains like hell if someone puts on the AirCo...

Enjoy your mini-vacation, and learn to slow down! (And teach me how when you do :p)

  3. @ Joey: Thank you very much. I misspelled "In" today - three times. My colleague looked at me and said, "Looks like your brain is already *on* vacation." lol

@ Stace: "He" did not handle the heat very well, but I seem to be much more amenable to it for some reason. Perhaps it was the frigid, endless winter we had - two of them, really. As I told a friend, "You don't have to shovel humidity."

I *have* noticed that cold bothers me much more than it did pre-transition. Air conditioning was clearly invented by men, I have decided - they probably invest heavily in companies that make sweaters for women. :D

We finally got past the latest release at long last, even if it was crisis-filled the last month. I vowed to take my life back once that nightmare was over, and I am going to do just that, starting this weekend. I will keep you posted on my progress (and hopefully not my lack thereof!).

Finally, and most important... I owe you a reply. I *promise* I will get to it, so stay tuned!

Hope the family is doing well, and little Kleintje is enjoying his first summer...

    Hugs,
    Cass

  4. I have to admit I only work well in a very narrow temperature window. Too cold and I feel sick, to hot and I, well, feel sick.

Somewhere between 16 and 24 is about right. Above or below that and I do not do well! (Air Co is a deity of choice for me!)

You worry about getting yourself fit later, the reply can follow - as long as I know you are OK!

  5. I confess that I, too, love air conditioning too, Stace. It's just that now I am extremely sensitive to it. I think I'm being paid back for all of the joking references I used to make to my sister when she would complain about 68 degrees F (20 C) being "frigid." :-p

    Ciao for now!
