You can't ever go wrong picking an Elvis song, especially Sun-era Elvis:
While we're at it, here's my very favorite Elvis song: "Suspicious Minds." It was recorded early in the sessions for what become his classic From Elvis in Memphis album at American Sound Studio in Memphis, and was released as a single in early 1969:

I think a great many people don't realise that Elvis cranked out some classic tracks and in the 60's as well as the 50's, my favourite is probably "If I Can Dream". And from the early 60's "A Mess of Blues".
Even after all that time Elvis still beats a lot of singer and groups hands down.
Was at a 50s and 60s Vintage weekend last Friday to Monday. Lots of great music every evening from live bands and a DJ playing vinyl. Great fun, especially after having the chance to learn Jive and Go Go dancing on the Saturday, and almost learning Stroll on the Sunday. Haven't danced that much, and especially doing proper dance rather than just swaying, for ages.
Totally agree about his later career, Joey. He released several fine albums in the Seventies (Elvis Country, Good Times, and Promised Land), but for whatever reason his best work from that era just doesn't get the respect it deserves.
I think I saw photos from the weekend you describe on Facebook, Jenna. The dresses and hair were to die for. I'm sure Elvis's catalogue got a workout that weekend by the DJs.
