Kiss the Bride(?)

Saturday, March 24, 2012

So, I had one of those fun "If only you knew what I was *really* thinking" conversations last night.

I was out for a walk after work and came up to a major intersection. It  was rush hour, so I was waiting for the lights to cycle through before the walk signal came on.

I turned around and noticed a beautiful wedding gown in the window of a small boutique. I had been idly looking at it for a moment when I heard a woman's voice behind me.

"Thinking about your big day?"

I turned around and saw an older woman smiling at me as she nodded in the direction of the gown.

I returned her smile.

"I am," I said.

"Is that what her gown looks like?" she asked.

I thought for a moment.

"To tell you the truth, I don't know," I said.

The walk signal came on.

"Well, I'm sure she'll be beautiful," she said over her shoulder as she waved and walked off. I returned her wave as I started off in the other direction.

"I hope so," I said to myself, still smiling.

To be continued…

(I hope!)

Here's a terrific rocker from Elton John's 1983 comeback album, Too Low For Zero. This is the album that reunited him with Bernie Taupin and the core of the 1970s band, with whom he recorded that string of classic albums.

Musings On The Migratory Patterns Of A Sartorially-Inclined Moose (And Of Yours Truly)

Saturday, March 17, 2012

Winter is nearly over, and you know what that means: my fully-clad moose friend, Mr. M, has stirred from his winter doldrums, anxious to indulge his jones for rambling.

I know the feeling, and not just because Mr. M spends his winters perched on my bed. (He hogs the covers, as you might imagine.) But there comes a time when you need to make a move to new environs. Or, to be precise, new environs for Mr. M, but familiar environs for me. And so we have.

After a seemingly endless six month search, I finally start my new job on Monday. For both myself and Mr. M, this is a mixed blessing, as these things so often are.

Spare Ribs, Anyone?

So, it's Day 3 of my She Takes A (Broken) Ribbing & Keeps On Ticking campaign. How goes it, you ask?

On The DL...

That's "Disabled List," in this case, not "Down Low." Although you probably guessed as much if you've read some of my earlier posts. No doubt by now you've deduced that I'm a bit of a klutz.

OK, more than a bit. :c) In no particular order, I've done the following:

Three(-ish) Month Update

Saturday, March 10, 2012

I'll begin this by noting that I received my confirmation letter from my new employer this afternoon, which I promptly signed and sent winging back via cyberspace. OK, fax. Close enough. Anyway, I'm officially employed again - which merits another "Yea!!!" methinks. :c)

Now, back to our regularly scheduled blog post. No major revelations in this one (I can hear the sighs of relief already); I just thought I'd blather on a bit about the changes I've noticed after three and a half months on HRT.

Working Girl!

As you may have guessed from the title, I'm happy to report that, as of the week after next, I will be gainfully employed again. Yea!!!

From Moo to You

In the interest of giving credit where it is due, I would like to state for the record that the true force behind the scenes here at Casa de Cass are... cows.
