Thank you!!!

Wow... you all certainly know how to make a girl feel good! lol

I had another annoying night of insomnia last night. (No reason; just one of those nights.

Work was the usual crazy, but super productive.

And that was followed by two hours of electrolysis around my upper lip and chin line that was super-productive (albeit at the price of a sore chin and a bit of a headache).

But then I came home, turned on the Red Sox game to see they were ahead 13-2 over the Orioles. Yea!

And then I logged into Blogger and Gmail and saw the comments and personal messages after my last few posts! What a lovely pick-me-up as I ice down my chin! lol

You are wonderful, wonderful folks, to a person. Thank you so much for the perfect ending to a busy day. Hugs and love all around!!!

Oh, and here's another picture from Monday - hatless, this time. You can see *why* I wore the hat when you get a look at my messy, uncooperative hair! lol

I have learned that barrettes are a girl's best friend when it is time to help minimize the damage. ;-P

While I was busy closing bugs and compiling Help files today, I listened to Nicki Bluhm's wonderful set at the Newport Folk Festival again. My NYC friend C and her beau saw her in Wyoming last month; both came away as instant converts. Give these clips a look and you will be too. :c)

Here's an original, "Kill You To Call":

And here's her wonderful cover of "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)," which was already my absolute favorite Hall & Oates song of all time. Now she and her band The Gramblers have come up with another great version!

Live music... good for the soul!

And of course now you want to hear the original, no doubt. And who can blame you? Not this gal!

Feelin' Groovy :c)

Monday, August 26, 2013

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a lovely Monday!

I had insomnia last night, but I suspect it was from staying up late to watch the Red Sox take two out of three from the Dodgers last night - on the road. That is what is known as a statement win - and a statement series.

This team reminds me a great deal of the '98 and '99 Red Sox teams. Like those squads, this isn't the most talented team in the league - but they are not the least bit intimidated by anyone. And that attitude can carry them a long way in October. Now if only my Mariners could acquire some of that grit... but that is a topic for another day. :c)

OK, enough baseball talk. :c) Apologies; I get carried away when it comes to my favorite sport. In fact, I'm typing this with one eye on the St. Louis - Cincinnati NL Central matchup. Yes, I am a total seamhead, as they call we baseball nerds...

Anyway, I just wanted to put up a quick post to assure everyone that I am, in fact, feeling fine - or groovy, as a Mister Simon and Mister Garfunkel put it so eloquently back in the day.

Follow below the fold for more. :c)

Even When I'm Blue

Sunday, August 25, 2013

Hello all! Hope everyone is doing well. :c)

I have been a bit scarce around these parts lately, I know.

That is not due to a lack of things to discuss, however.

Quite the contrary.

In my last post, I wrote that I had emerged from a period of feeling less than my best.

As I learned since that post, that assessment was, in fact, a bit premature.

But I also learned that I am a far, far different person now than I was pre-transition.

See A Little Light

Thursday, August 15, 2013

Hello all!

Please accept my apologies for the lack of posts recently.

As I have mentioned, I try to be honest about how I am feeling.

And I was feeling poorly.

For a while.

Fortunately, though, I feel better now.

I seem to have hit bottom on Monday - well, really, early Tuesday morning.

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling as down as I have felt in a long, long time.

I suspect it was the culmination of what has been a challenging 18+ months, and a particularly challenging two months. What I was trying to convince myself was just exhaustion was something more serious, and all too familiar. However, there was one big difference this time:

I am myself now.

And that makes - and made - all the difference in the world.

My Dinner With M: The Sequel

Sunday, August 4, 2013

Greetings all! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I have a longer post in the works - a big one, too! - that I hope to finish later today, but first I wanted to write about my Saturday evening.

Did anything out of the ordinary happen?

No, not really.

And that is precisely why I want to write about it. :c)

Vignettes: Newport Picture-Palooza!

Thursday, August 1, 2013

Greetings and salutations, one and all!

Just wanted to post more pics from my weekend in Newport, both of the performers I saw and some slightly less unkempt (I hope) shots of myself. lol
